New Years Eve

The last day of 2010 brought us a surprise. A pheasant joined the sparrows to share in some of the bird seed provided.

Kobi came to spend some time with Toby.

Pebbles insisted on looking Cute.

Nib tried to out cute Pebbles.

Tobi gave us a wink cause she knows who is the cutest.

Thud and Nib were all over themselves trying to get into the competition.

The black labs settling down for a chew.

Nibs trying to get control of the camera.

The Mercer Cats

On my visit with the Mercer cats they greeted me as if I was a long lost friend. They all got some petting and loving attention, after they had eaten that is.

And Action! I said Action! Oh Geez no action.

The Alpaca farm for the Holidays

Getting some food for a cold night.
The Hermann Rorschach donkeys.

Beautiful shot of the moon on a crystal clear night spoilt by the earth's shadow!

Food? - No, we just want to play some basketball. What do you think?!

Bright moonlight keeps the sky blue over the prairies

Pebbles and static electricity. Amazing she was able to jump off the couch on her own. I thought she might get stuck there.
We're taking too long fussing over the camera again...

Dogs Returning from a visit to the beach

We're sitting at a beach side cafe listening to some salsa when these little fellows showed up.

Perros de Habana

Some of the dogs we encountered while walking in Havana (and the Playas del Este):

Classic cuban canines.
Patria o Muerte o Kibbles

The little guy is pretty confident that the bus will respect the no-go zone borders of the pedestrian island, but it doesn't hurt to be a little vigilant...

A siesta next to the coppelia (a heladeria or ice-cream outlet) off La Rampa.

Nice pose outside the Teatro Nacional

Rather possessive fellow photographed through the wire fence of his yard in Miramar.

A little too much Miramar sun for this hairless mutt lying in the street.

A typical resident of centro Habana on a calle off Neptuno.

North Havana between the river Almendares and the Bahia resembles the silhouette of a dog's head - just an observation.

Dog at entrance opening onto Neptuno. No barking (sore throat perhaps?). There were a few dogs with capes, are they medicated to protect them against fleas or something else? We didn't find out.

Last Day with Rascal

Rascal is going home today so we had one last stroll around the hood. A very slow and methodical walk, he wanted to take all the smells home with him.
